Are you in favor of same sex marriages? Throughout the U.S. there is a strict division between the yes and no's of homosexual or just man and women marriages. In some states like San Fransisco it is much more common than maybe in Miami. “July 20, 2005, Canada became the fourth country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage”(John Garvey). This creates a negative sturr throughout the United States. Some people even think that same sex marriage will ‘damage the population’ but so far Massachusetts have survived gay marriage pretty well. Gay people should be alowed to marry. One of the reasons of this is that The American Constitution accords equal rights to all American under the law. Also the fact that liking someone your own sex isn’t a sin, but the bible says it is. In addition you don’t choose who you like, its just a matter of attraction of pleasing your own feelings.
The subject is highly controversial due to the fact that some people can't bare to watch two people of the same sex together. The issue is that in the United States it is asked that you are to respect this, not to like it. The contreversial aspect is that according to the bible "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." —(Genesis 1:27) (NKJV) man was made for women and vice versa. This is when we think that the American constitution accords equal rights and individual liberties to all Americans under the law. Thomas Jefferson stated that the First Amendment to The United States Constitution was “creating a wall of separation between church and state”.
One has to take into consideration that nobody chooses to change sex or to start liking somebody from your own sex, because everybody dreams of children and a family. "We would get married tomorrow, if we could" (Joe Daniels) . Of course when one rises upon realizing that they are homosexual it is even worse when half the world can't even talk to you and much less respect you. "I couldn't listen to them. I had to listen to me. You know? It's my life. It's my heart. It's my soul. It's my journey. And it's who I am."(Ellen DeGeneres). This is the issue that all homosexuals bring up. They ask for equality but it seems as if our world is not prepared to give them that just yet. “Denying one group the right to marry has many adverse emotional and financial consequences.” (B.A. Robinson). This is one the reasons why gay couples when married don’t have all the rights they deserve. Some of the deprived rights are “Social Security, Medicare, medical leave, and other benefits; property inheritance; the right to visit their spouse in hospital, and make medical decisions if they are incapacitated; security of the couple and of their children.” (B.A. Robinson). All of these are a violation of an American citizen right.
In such a racist lifetime involving slaves, Indians, and rights for African American, we don't expect this homosexual scandal to end any time soon. This battle could go on for years and as it seems now the people against it are standing stronger. More than 40 states contain a law that is against gay marriage and dosen't permit it in any way, shape or form. This raises the question, is that really equality? 256 Fortune and 500 companies are promoting same sex marriage. "In three to five years, this is going to be a non-issue,"(Ann Margaret Carrozza), this problem will be solved.
Gay people have feelings; just as heterosexuals do, straight people all express ourselves in our own way, so can they. The fact that people judge everything is just pitiful, because maybe for some same sex marriage is ‘horrible’ but have they thought if what they do that makes them horrible people as well.
